two albums and a book

January 13, 2008

i’m finding it increasingly difficult to find music that i like for reasons unknown to me. maybe as a i grow older, i am being more of a snob, rejecting anything that is even remotely mainstream. or maybe it is because i think 90s rock is the epitome of all music and nothing will ever come close. anyway, here are two cds that are worth a gander. or a listen. whichever suits you!

stars – in our bedroom after the war

athlete – beyond the neighborhood.

these two albums are filled with great melodies that will make your timpanic organs resonate with joy. immediately, all the dust of the world’s suffering will melt away as you listen to arpeggiated happiness and your mind will be opened to all of nature’s secrets.

sex god – rob bell.

the title always raises some eyebrows when people ask what you are reading. its a great book by mars hill pastor rob bell. i havent finished it yet but it has been a great read so far. i won’t write a book report for you because .. i can’t be bothered. head over to the library or half.com and get these three necessities pronto!

    Two things about the book:
    1) Zondervan, my sister company, publishes it.
    2) I just started reading the beginning of it, b/c it was sent out on this online “book club” that I’m part of. They preview a new book each wk to you. Easy marketing!
